Members of a crime reduction partnership are being asked to stop swearing over the airwaves when they communicate by radio.
The plea was made by the Brighton and Hove Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP).
The partnership said: “The BCRP are disappointed to have to remind members, once again, to not swear over the NightSafe radio.
“Today we have issued three misuse of radio warning letters due to swearing and one incident of a user saying ‘10 points to Gryffindor’.
“We are even more disappointed that one of these misuse letters is being sent to an accredited MSU (mobile support unit).
“The NightSafe radio is only to be used for the prevention and detection of crime and disorder – failure to comply with the above will result in a breach of point 9 of your contract with the BCRP.
“Point 9: ‘All clients, their agents and their staff must comply with the BCRP operating procedures. Failure to do so may result in BCRP facilities and services being withdrawn.’
“The BCRP will provide one written warning after a breach. If breaches continue within a period of 28 days, the radio will be stunned and a reconnection charge of £25 will be incurred.”
