 Arsenal 1 Brighton & Hove Albion 2

Brilliant Brighton & Hove Albion beat Arsenal in London for the first time since the clubs first met in 1935.

Adam Webster put the Seagulls ahead, as Aaron Connolly just failed to connect to a Pascal Gross corner. Webster stabbed the ball home past Bernd Leno.

Albion had other chances to score, most notably when Connolly just failed to guide the ball through to Neal Maupay who was unmarked in the penalty area.

Later in the first half Maty Ryan made a cracking save from a Joe Willock header.

Arsenal got back in the game early in the second half, Alexandre Lacazette firing past Ryan to make it all square.

The Gunners looked to have a second when David Luiz volleyed home from a Mezut Ozil free kick, but the goal was ruled out by VAR.

Albion’s winner came after great work from Aaron Mooy. His cross was glanced home by Maupay to put the Seagulls back in front.

Arsenal hardly troubled Albion after this and were roundly booed off by the home fans at the end.

Albion move up to 13th in the Premier League and take on Wolves at the Amex in the Super Sunday Sky fixture, on  Sunday with a 4.30pm kick off.

not only did they win, they deserved to win – thank you so much tony bloom – your investment and promotion in the club and infrastructure mean so much more to so many people than anything that the idiot politicians standing for election have done for brighton – may the dreams continue
