A halted train outside Preston Park Station this afternoon

A halted train outside Preston Park Station this afternoon

The Brighton mainline is closed this afternoon after someone was hit by a train at Preston Park.

National Rail says severe disruption is expected on Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express services.

The line is closed in both directions between Brighton and Haywards Heath.

Tickets are valid on any:

  • Southern services via any reasonable route
  • Thameslink services via any reasonable route
  • Gatwick Express services via any reasonable route
  • Brighton and Hove Buses via any reasonable route
  • Metrobus via any reasonable route
