A Brighton man and the environmental activist Greta Thunberg are among 26 people to be charged after a protest outside a London hotel that was hosting an oil industry conference.

Scott Henry, 55, from Brighton, was charged with a public order offence outside the Energy Intelligence Forum, at the InterContinental London Park Lane, in Mayfair.

The Metropolitan Police said that Henry failed to comply with a condition imposed under section 14 of the Public Order Act which deals with the policing of protests.

He was bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday 20 November.

Twenty-year-old Thunberg was bailed to appear at the same court to face the same charge on Wednesday 15 November.

The Met said: “We have charged 26 people after a protest outside a hotel in central London.

“Officers responded to the protest on the morning of Tuesday 17 October and imposed conditions to prevent disruption to the public.

“The protestors were asked to move from the road on to the pavement which would enable them to continue with their demonstration without breaching the conditions.”

The protest appeared to have been organised by Just Stop Oil.

What has the world come to when a teenager has a voice louder than a president. Shut her up please, and send her back to complete her schooling.

The world has come to the point of no return for mankind. What is the purpose of this generation completing their schooling if there is no future on this planet?

What has the world come to when world political leaders including our own, fail to make as much sense as a young woman protesting for common sense issues that threaten the worlds future. Mark Sutton its you that needs to educate yourself. Do you not read what is happening to our environment. Get back to school !

She is 20 – it’s a bit late for her to be going back to school.

Deportation. Protesters are actually wasting their own time more than anything. They would do better to get involved in politics and try and change the system that way.

People have a right to protest. That is their way of being involved in politics.

Did you read the article ?
These fools were asked to move out the road and onto the pavement.
People have the right to continue their journeys without being stopped but these ignorant protesters.
