Boy wanted for questioning for hate-fuelled abuse of woman outside pub

Detectives are seeking to identify this boy in connection with enquiries after a public order hate crime incident in Brighton.

Police received a report of the incident that is understood to have taken place at around 2.15am on Saturday, 9 May outside the Crowns Brighton pub in Cranbourne Street, Brighton.

It was reported that a boy was shouting verbal abuse at the victim, a 48-year-old woman, before he was reportedly escorted from the scene by another boy in the direction of the bus stops in Western Road in front of Churchill Square shopping centre.

Officers are pursuing a number of enquiries and would like to speak to this boy in connection with the investigation.

Anyone who recognises him, who witnessed the incident, or who has relevant information such as CCTV or mobile footage is encouraged to report it to us online or by calling 101 and quoting serial 915 of 10/05.

Over the past two decades I’ve seen more of this type of lad appear in Brighton… and it’s not for the best.
These kinds of people need to stay in London, and do their business there. We really don’t need diversity’s problems down here…
