No police action over Hove mephedrone death

Two men arrested in connection with the death of the first man to die of mephedrone poisoning will face no further action.

John Sterling Smith, 46, suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in Hove in February, which was later attributed to the deadly legal high, also known as meow or m-cat. His inquest will be held on Thursday, May 27.

Two men, aged 35 and 40, from Brighton, who were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs have been released today  from their bail conditions.
