Ashley Barnes told me this morning he revels in his role as Albion’s nominated penalty taker.
He went on to say when he puts the ball on the spot all he can think about is hitting the net and that if he is on the pitch he will take the penalties.
He also revealed he has played at the Riverside Stadium before, whilst with Plymouth and commented on the distance especially from Plymouth. Barnes told us the team will fly up to ‘Boro but take the team bus back.
Ashley also mentioned that is he happy to play any role Poyet asks him to and that he feels that he has developed massively as a palyer whilst he has been at the Albion.
He ended by revealing his young son has a full Albion kit.
