A Brighton charity has teamed up with two Sussex firms to donate Christmas trees to hospitals and respite centres caring for sick and disabled children.
Rockinghorse Children’s Charity teamed up with local publisher Friday-Ad and SendMeAChristmasTree.co.uk to provide and decorate a tree for the entrance of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton.
Twenty Friday-Ad staff have delivered and festooned eight trees with decorations across the area.
Apart from the Royal Alex, trees have been given to Tudor House respite centre in the Withdean area of Brighton and a similar facility in Drove Road, Portslade.
David Somerville, from SendMeAChristmasTree.co.uk, the website of Sussex Trees, said: “We were so pleased to be able to donate some Christmas trees, especially knowing that the centres could put the money they would normally have spent towards other good uses.”
Nicola Grinham, one of the Friday-Ad staff who volunteered, said: “I was really pleased to get involved with decorating a tree at one of the respite centres that Rockinghorse supports.
“The trees look great and the children enjoyed helping too.”
Rockinghorse helps ensure no child is forgotten at this magical time of year by co-ordinating donations of Christmas trees and delivering presents to local hospitals and respite centres.
