Firefighters were called to deal with a kitchen fire in Brighton in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 22 August).
A woman who suffered the effects of breathing in smoke was treated at the scene by paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that it received a 999 call shortly before 2.20am today.
It said: “Crews from Preston Circus and Hove attended a flat at Regency Square and put out the fire using a hose reel.
“Paramedics were called to assist a woman who was suffering from the effects of smoke.”
