Finally the wait is over and the new EP from pink pop talky-rapper sensation Girli aka Milly Toomey will be let lose to the world tomorrow (10th October).
The new 4 track EP features the adorably catchy lead track ‘Hot Mess’, which you can hear here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-2Mrws6zGc but beware there is tons of ‘youth of today’ attitude in the video and swearing and oh errr loads of pink!
The other 3 tracks are ‘Mr 10pm Bedtime’, ‘Can I Say Baby’ and my current fave Girli track ‘Neck Contour’, which was written when London lady Milly was feeling a bit down with life, but somehow realising that she is able to write memorable uplifting 21st century pop tunes, as stated in the song ‘I write songs that’ll stick in yer head to get Spotify plays even after I’m dead’. Some people might believe that Girli is manufactured, but hell-no, she writes all of her songs and comes up with her pink images etc.
Girli has played live in Brighton before as part of last two Great Escape festivals, which included the legendary Palace Pier gig. Those that were there will know exactly what I mean.
But now she’s back in town on her ‘Hot Mess’ tour, which arrives in Pool Valley at The Haunt in Brighton on Wednesday 15th November.
