A Brighton is due to appear in court this week charged with an offence under the Terrorism Act, police said this morning (Tuesday 17 December).

Tony Greenstein had been due to appear in court last Thursday (12 December) charged with expressing support for Hamas on Saturday 7 October last year.

It was the day when Hamas killed almost 1,200 people in Israel and took more than 250 hostages.

The police said: “A 70-year-old man has been charged with a terrorism offence as part of an investigation by officers from Counter Terrorism South East (CTPSE).

“Anthony Greenstein, of Belgrave Place, Brighton, has been charged with one count of inviting support for a proscribed organisation, namely Hamas, contrary to section 12(1) of the Terrorism Act 2000.

“The charge is in connection with comments made online on Saturday 7 October 2023.

“He has been bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 19 December.”

The irony of a Jewish person being persecuted for speaking about an Arabic organisation is obviously lost on you!

The irony of anyone defending a “notorious AntiSemite” who has a string of convictions and suspended sentences for violence, threats and harassment.

You have one thing right though, Hamas would have killed him without a second thought.

By Arabic organisation you mean the proscribed terrorist organisation Hamas, he isn’t being persecuted – publicly supporting terrorist organisations is illegal. Do you think it’s OK to openly support terrorism?

Israel is the biggest terrorist organisation in the Middle East and has arrest warrants out for committing Genocide yet it’s still perfectly legal to support them. Hamas was “proscribed” by disgraced far-right former Home Secretary Priti Patel – a political decision not a legal one.

Only a fascist would want to see their political opponents put in prison. Your disdain for democracy is apparent.

One rather wonders what the point was of Great Britain fighting the Second World War to defeat fascism and bring the Nazi genocide to an end, when eighty years on the son of a rabii no less, who lost family members in Treblinka, is tried in court for venturing to suggest that an oppressed minority have the right to resist their Zionist oppressors who are themselvrs now huolty of genocide – it seems “never again” does not apply to them. Meanwhile the UK government is actually talking to de facto terrorists who are proscribed under the same anti terroro legislation Tony Greenstein is being prosecuted under. Personally I don’t think we fought a Second World War so ‘that our laws could be used to suppress free speech not amounting to incitement, let alone have our foreign policy dicted by Tel Aviv and Washington

John, the only time tony decided to be Jewish was when he got caught using someone else’s credit card. He then called his dad who was a rabbi to say that he wasn’t a bad boy in court. Once he received a slap on the wrist, he basically Ditched his Dad.
Very pleasing to see his years of poor behaviour finally hopefully caught up with him.
