Baleba dropped as Brighton and Hove Albion face Nottingham Forest

Carlos Baleba has been dropped to the bench as Brighton and Hove Albion prepare to face Nottingham Forest this afternoon (Sunday 30 November).

The midfielder has struggled to find the form that won him so many admirers last season while Forest’s Elliot Anderson is winning praise as Forest pull away from the relegation zone.

Fabian Hürzeler has made the tough decision as he aims for a better result than Albion’s last outing at the City Ground – a 7-0 thrashing.

The Albion line up today includes Danny Welbeck up front, with Diego Gomez, Georginio Rutter and Yankuba Minteh in support, with Yasin Ayari and Mats Wieffer also in midfield.

Albion skipper Lewis Dunk is back in the starting side. Maxim De Cuyper, Jan Paul van Hecke and Ferdi Kadioglu join him in the defence, with Bart Verbruggen in goal.

Jack Hinshelwood joins Baleba on the bench, along with Stefanos Tzimas, Charalampos Kostoulas, Brajan Gruda and Joel Veltman. Jason Steele is the reserve keeper and the other subs are Diego Coppola and Olivier Boscagli.

Earlier, Forest boss Sean Dyche told Sky Sports about Murillo’s absence, saying: “Murillo came off the other night. We thought it was a precautionary thing and I still think it is a little bit.

“We’ve got that many games coming up, if someone’s feeling something then we can’t keep losing players so we’ve had to make a judgment call on that one so he misses today.”

Morgan Gibbs-White is down to start for Forest who will take confidence from winning two games on the trot, including a 3-0 demolitin of Liverpool, lifting them out of the relegation zone to 16th.

Revenge aside, Brighton are looking for three points to boost their hold in the top half of the table despite  their somewhat patchy away form so far this season.
