The A259 is closed between Brighton and Peacehaven tonight after a stolen Royal Mail van crashed at the Ovingdean roundabout.
The van was reported stolen from Hamsey Road in Brighton earlier today.
Soon after, it was spotted by officers and crashed at Ovingdean.
A police spokesman said: “A man has been arrested, and a temporary road closure is in place while we investigate this incident.”
The road closure is causing tailbacks on several other roads in the area.

Was it really needed to disrupt the whole area with buses having to detour for one stolen van crash to be sorted out. It has become a police thing this closing roads both ways while they have a cup of coffee and wait around, instead of directing trafic into single file as used to be the case.
