A man has been charged with raping a woman on the beach in Brighton, police said today (Monday 18 May).

Sussex Police said: “A 35-year-old man has been charged with the rape of a woman on Brighton seafront.

“On Monday 4 May, police received a report that a 21-year-old woman had been raped at around 2am the previous morning (Sunday 3 May) on the beach opposite the Grand hotel.

“An investigation was launched and, on Wednesday (14 May), a man was arrested on suspicion of rape and held in police custody.

“Bilal Alkadour, 35, a Syrian national, of Cromwell Road, Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, has now been charged with sexual assault, assault by penetration and rape of a woman aged 16 years or over.

“He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (16 May) and was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Monday 15 June.”

Chief Superintendent Adam Hays said: “Specialist detectives have been working tirelessly since this report was received to identify a suspect and gather any available evidence.

“I can confirm we are not currently looking for anybody else in connection with this investigation.

“The victim is being supported by our officers and this will continue as we look ahead to court proceedings.

“I would like to thank her for the courage she has shown in reporting this matter and assisting with our inquiries.

“I know this incident will be concerning to the public and we will continue to conduct round the clock patrols on the seafront while working with our partners to protect the public and safeguard vulnerable people.”

How many more women have to be raped before the Government actually does something about these foreign nationals coming to our country and committing so many sex offences?

Should probably do something about the white ones as well while they’re at it, some real sickos right there.

Swerve from the point, Stan. One of the obvious differences is that the foreign rapists didn’t have to be here.

Not a swerve at all, I was being all inclusive, these articles define others while the “homeboy” attracts less media, apply harsher punishments to ALL rapists with lifetime supervision.

One of the men arrested in a recent rape case on Brighton beach said during police interview, “but rape is sex”. That detail is disturbing and raises serious questions about understanding, consent, and accountability. These victims of sexual violence deserve this to be at the centre of this discussion, rather than the issue being deflected into general debate.

I agree Stan, all perverts regardless of race should be sent to Afghanistan

How many times do more women have to be murdered by their partners or ex partners? It’s about 2 per week. If you actually want to do something positive to protect women such as myself, challenging the manosphere rubbish put out by people such as Andrew Tate would be far more appropriate, as well as a better understanding of domestic violence. I am sure you would be offended if I assumed as you were male you must be a rapist – it is exactly the same for male immigrants – not all of them commit sexual offences. My own experience is I have never been subject to a sexual offence against me by an immigrant. I can’t say the same about all white men.

the government should make an agreement to return the perpetrators in such cases . in syria he would get 9 – 15 years with hard labour
