Public warned not to approach violent missing man

A violent man may be on the loose in Brighton, police have warned.

MISSING: Simon Wrixon

Simon Wrixon, 32, was last seen at his home in Poole at about 6.45pm on Sunday, 7 March, and he has not been seen since.

Inspector Mark Handscombe, of Bournemouth and Poole police, said: “Simon needs regular medication to control a mental illness – he has not taken any with him.

“Without this medication Simon’s health will deteriorate quite quickly. This will adversely affect his behaviour towards members of the public with whom he is likely to become aggressive and violent.

“It is for this reason that I am warning the public not to approach Simon if they see him but to call the police immediately by dialling 999.

“We’re releasing a picture of Simon in the hope that anyone who sees him will realise he is missing and will contact the police straight away.”

Simon is white, 6ft 2in, of stocky build with dark brown hair and a brown beard. When last seen he was wearing a grey hooded top, a blue and yellow T-shirt and blue tracksuit bottoms.

Insp Handscombe said: “As well as making enquiries locally we have been speaking with Sussex Police as when he has gone missing in the past he has been found at a Brighton address.

“It’s crucial that we hear from anyone who has any information that will help us find Simon so that we can make sure that he receives his medication.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01202 or 01305 222222 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
