A Brighton shop has been voted Britain’s best vintage shop by readers of BBC Homes & Antiques magazine.
Nanadobbie, which opened in Gloucester Road, Brighton, in 2010, was given the award by TV presenters Kirstie Allsopp and Mark Hill at the Bath Decorative and Antiques Fair.
Nanadobbie was shortlisted along with four other retailers after about 2,500 votes were cast by BBC Homes & Antiques readers as part of National Antiques Week last November.
The shop is owned and run by Mike and Alys Dobbie, a father and daughter team.
Nanadobbie was first established in Lostwithiel in Cornwall in 2006.
A second shop was opened in Stoke Newington, London, in 2009.
The North Laine shop was opened in late 2010.
Over the same period Nanadobbie has established a strong website presence with a large customer base of subscribers to its monthly newsletter and growing internet sales.
Alys Dobbie, manager of the Brighton shop, said: “This is fantastic news.
“Many of our customers have shopped with us from day one and this award is a great recognition of customer loyalty.”
Nanadobbie also provides original mid-century props for hire for TV, film and production companies as well as magazines.
