A karaoke bar has applied to open and serve alcohol in Brighton into the early hours of the morning.
Nine Rooms Karaoke has submitted the application for a licence at a new bar in Middle Street. It wants to open until 3.30am from Monday to Friday, 4am on Saturday and 12 midnight on Sunday.
It is also asking for permission to serve alcohol until half an hour before it closes each night.
The proposed bar is in the middle of the city centrre cumulative impact area, designated as it already has a high concentration of premises serving alcohol.
Brighton and Hove City Council’s licensing committee has received representations from five local residents, a residents’ association and Brighton police expressing concerns about crime, nuisance and protecting children from harm.
