Detectives have been granted more time to question a Portslade man arrested on suspicion of the murder of Stefan Welch.
Sussex Police made a successful application for extra time to Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday evening.
They now have until tomorrow morning to charge or release the 21-year-old, from St Richards Road, Fishersgate.
He was arrested on Tuesday three days after golfers found the badly burnt body of Mr Welch on the edge of Brighton and Hove.
Today detectives from the Major Crime Branch were also questioning two men, aged 44 and 23, from Hove.
They were arrested early yesterday afternoon and officers were searching a house in Wilfrid Road on the Knoll Estate in Hove.
Mr Welch, 37, of Oriental Place, Brighton, is believed to have been killed by a blow to the head.
His body was found last Saturday at The Dyke Golf Club across the road from the Devil’s Dyke.
He is believed to have been murdered over a drug debt.
