Police in Brighton and Hove held two action days to try to combat cycle theft yesterday and on Wednesday.
Officers from Sussex Police spent time at various locations, including Brighton Station, Churchill Square, the promenade and St James’s Street.
They gave advice on crime prevention, how to lock cycles securely and how to register them on immobilise.com which helps in the recovery of stolen bikes.
Paul Knight, a crime reduction officer, said: “To combat cycle theft, we advise cyclists to use a combination of two different good-quality locks, lock both wheels and the frame to a bike stand and remove any accessories before leaving your cycle.”
