100+ artists added to The Great Escape line up today

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE THE GO! TEAM, ALMA, MS BANKS, LOTTO BOYZZ, TELEMAN, KOJEY RADICAL, ROSS FROM FRIENDS (LIVE)

Ramping up the pace and ready to unleash the hottest upcoming artists on Brighton for three days of discovery and musical mayhem, The Great Escape announces even more artists across every musical style, all set to define the soundtrack of 2018.

The Go! Team

The Go! Team, Brighton’s very own boisterous 6-piece will blast away the current global gloom and bring the party vibes on Saturday down at the brand new beach site with their critically acclaimed new album Semicircle. Alma, the Finnish powerhouse known for her extraordinary soulful voice, electric-neon hair, baggy punk attire and a charismatic attitude is a very welcome addition. Having already got over 100 million streams and 4.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, she has found fans in TGE veterans Annie Mac, MNEK and Charli XCX and got a BBC Sound of 2018 nomination. Hotly tipped new artists in the UK’s ‘afrobashment’ scene, Birmingham-duo Lotto Boyzz will offer a slick mix of banging dancefloor energy with their own unique genre of afrobean, a mix of African and Caribbean music.

Making their TGE debut, the Arab electronic hip-hop supergroup 47SOUL, whose members are from Palestine and Jordan. They are renowned for inventing another new genre Shamstep fusing hip-hop and pop lyrics in English and Arabic. Their energetic and intoxicatingly distinctive sound and powerful political lyrics resonate with their fans with the YouTube music video for their debut single is currently sitting on 6.1 million views. British punk rockers Milk Teeth will provide some mayhem with their grunge-punk fuelled tracks and stomping live shows whilst in contrast all-female East London collective Deep Throat Choir will perform their stripped back intricate vocal melodies and harmonies, imaginative arrangements and beautiful choral pop.

South London rapper Ms Banks will showcase her intricate wordplay and bold bangers as she manoeuvres between UK grime and soulful patois-inflected songs. Sam Smith’s favourite, the incredibly talented Bruno Major, will bring his smooth vocals and poignant collection of R&B tracks and next up, a rare chance to catch Mancunian psychedelic band Whyte Horses who will be showcasing their wonderfully eclectic and uplifting second album Empty Words.

White Room

The Late Escape brings you emotionally charged house producer, Ross From Friends, whose comprehensive sound palette includes everything from early experimental, to hip-hop sampling and 80s Eurobeat. Joining him is Glastonbury’s Block 9 founder DJ Gideon whose extensive vinyl collection will keep the party going with his underground deep house, disco and soul grooves whilst Electro-dance legend Erol Alkan will bring his infamous wild nights to the festival. Crack Magazine will also be hosting a Late Escape show, with some of electronic music’s hottest talent.

Festival booker Adam Ryan said: “We’ve been inundated with artists wanting to showcase, more than ever before, the bar has been raised and as a result we’ve curated a line-up of artists who will no doubt set the music agenda for the rest of the year. This year’s festival is going to be the best Brighton has ever seen; with our brand-new beach venue and even more artists to announce in the coming weeks, it’s set to be the biggest year yet.”
