A jury has acquitted a man who was charged with raping a woman in Brighton after an eight-day trial at Brighton Crown Court.
Mohammed Adam, 23, of Chequers Place, Dorking, had denied the charge of raping a 20-year-old, from the local area.
After Adam was acquitted, Recorder David Brock made him the subject of a four-year restraining order during which time he is barred from contacting the complainant.
The order also bans him from going to the Arch night club, in King’s Road, Brighton, and the Wetherspoon pub, the Post and Telegraph, in North Street, Brighton.
Sussex Police said: “A Surrey man charged with the rape of a woman in Brighton has been acquitted at court.

“She was supported by specialist officers while Adam was remanded in custody.
“At Brighton Crown Court on Thursday 8 May, Adam was found not guilty by a jury.
“He was handed a restraining order on acquittal for four years.”
