Author to share life-changing ideas at Brighton event

Author and life coach Suzy Greaves will spell out alternatives to the rat race when she comes to Brighton next week.

She will speak at an event called “If not the treadmill, then what?”

It has been organised by Fulfilling Work which is an initiative by two professional women from Brighton and Hove, Catherine Meek and Karen Macmillan.

The pair said that the event was aimed at professionals who were no longer satisfied simply to climb the corporate ladder.

It is the first of six monthly events intended to offer practical support, a forum and a local network to those considering a career change.

Suzy Greaves has written about the key issues involved in Making the Big Leap and will share practical information on new ways of working that are more fulfilling.

The organisers said that the event should interest anyone in a rut with their current work and wishing to make a leap to a new career or set up on their own.

Suzy Greaves’s talk will be followed by a short workshop designed to get attendees actively thinking about their own next step.

There will also be an opportunity to network with other professionals at a similar stage.

Both organisers have made the leap for themselves. They said: “In our experience, many people are miserable at work and live for the weekend but don’t really know how to change this cycle.

“There are plenty of events in Brighton which focus on lifestyle and creating a life you love, but don’t specifically address creative ways of working. We aim to fill this gap.”

The event is due to take place at The Marlborough Theatre in Prince’s Street, Brighton, from 7pm to 9pm a week tomorrow (Tuesday 11 October).

Tickets are £6 in advance. To book, go to http://fulfillingworkbtn.eventbrite.com.
