Brighton and Hove City Council is going to court to get an eviction order to move on an unauthorised traveller camp in Brighton this week.

Travellers moved onto land at Surrenden Field off the London Road on Tuesday. Yesterday, the council made a joint visit to the site with police.

The council is now applying to the county court for a possession order to move the travellers on if they don’t leave of their own accord.

It is also going to court to evict van dwellers from two more sites at Coldean Woods, off Coldean Lane, and the church car park in Stanmer Park.

HOW MUCH does our BHCC pay yearly for these court cases ?
I dont get it . WHY do they have to keep going BACK to court to evict them ? Surely an eviction order lasts MORE than ONE day ? If the court made them for a YEAR then they would not have to keep on going back !!! You see , when you work out policy , you ask the PEOPLE who live and work in Brighton &Hove AND pay council tax , WHAT THEY (US) WANT !! WE ARE THE RESIDENTS . I think career councillors should have a max of TEN years on the council .

WHEN I THINK OF some of our LONGEST standing councillors , WHO AFTER THIRTY years in some cases , have been paid well , pensions , expenses , got married , bought houses , raised children , sent them to uni , got them married etc etc etc etc , SOME councillors have made MILLIONS AND MILLIONS out of BHCC over the years , YET they leave behind the SAME TIRED OLD PROPERTIES that have been neglected for YEARS ! AND they have their private interests too . The council is not a cash cow for these people . IT IS OURS .. Where is the democracy in this country ? AND the transparency ? sadly , luv lemme
