Parents have been warned and police patrols stepped up after reports of a girl being grabbed as she walked home from school on Tuesday.
The girl, who is of early secondary school age, was walking along Hangleton Road in Hangleton at about 3.10pm when her arm was grabbed.
She told police she had been followed by two men, one on foot and one driving what was believed to be a black van with tinted windows.
A police spokesman said: “The girl wasn’t injured and was able to run away. If you have any information, please call 101 and quote CAD 0851 11/09/2018.”
