Two men have been arrested in Brighton for having imitation guns, Sussex Police said today (Friday 5 July).
The force said: “Sussex Police have arrested two men in Brighton for being in possession of a firearm.
“Officers received reports of a man being in possession of a firearm in London Road, Brighton around 8.30pm on Thursday (4 July).
“An area search was conducted and two men were arrested near by.
“A 31-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.
“A 25-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.
“Both remain in custody and inquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone who has information is asked to report online or call 101 quoting 1552 of 04/07.”
