Brighton-based jobs board boss Gary Peters, of LoveLocalJobs.com, and Andrew Laurillard, of the Giggling Squid restaurant chain, are both in the running for Entrepreneur of the Year.

Two Brighton hotels – the Grand and the Hotel du Vin – are up for the Best Place To Entertain Your Clients Award.

And the Treatment Rooms, in New Road, Brighton has been shortlisted for the Award for Best Customer Service sponsored by Brighton warranty business Domestic and General, which has a call centre in Brighton.

Evans, who has appeared on Live at the Apollo and the Michael McIntyre Comedy Road Show, said: “I am delighted to have been asked to host this year’s Sussex Business Awards – especially as it will be such a short walk home.

“There are so many business success stories from across Sussex. I look forward to hearing more about the shortlist and to announcing the winners on the night.”

Tickets for the awards evening cost £90 plus VAT or £850 plus VAT for a table of ten.
