CCTV released of woman leaving bus with someone else’s handbag

Police want to speak to this woman in connection with a handbag which was taken from a bus in Brighton on Christmas eve.

The victim, a 56-year-old woman, had been travelling on a number 22 bus between London Road and Lawns Cemetery, Woodingdean. When she got off the bus around 2.30pm she left her handbag on the seat next to her. When she rang the bus company no bag was found or had been handed in.

Investigator Tamara Bennett said: “We have released this CCTV from the bus of a woman we would like to speak to who appears to have left with the bag. Anyone who recognises her is asked to get in touch.”
