Police used special powers to move travellers on from Wild Park yesterday.

People camped there were told they had to either go to the Brighton and Hove City Council transit site at Horsdean or leave the city for three months.

The last time police moved travellers on from the park in Moulsecoomb was on June 11, following complaints of antisocial behaviour.

Today, I was able to use powers to direct Travellers in Wild Park to @BrightonHoveCC Transit site or leave City for 3 months #partnership

— Nev Kemp (@ChSuptNevKemp) July 31, 2014

A police spokeswoman said: “Five caravans were at Wild Park in Brighton and were yesterday (July 31) given a section 62 notice which directed them to use the transit site or leave the city for 3 months.

“They decided to leave the city.”

And of course, these wonderful, law-abiding, tax-paying individuals will do exactly what the Police tell them to do…
