1-2-3-4 …The Ramonas to return to Brighton
The Ramonas

The seminal US punk band the Ramones are absolute legends. From the moment of their inception in Forest Hills, New York, in 1974, until their final concert, (which was number 2,263), in Los Angeles on 6th August 1996, they were seriously on the case! They were prolific – releasing 21 studio and live albums between 1976 and 1996.

Here we are more than two decades since their sad demise and interest in all things Ramones are higher than ever, especially on the vinyl and iconic t-shirt front. I bet there’s a ton of people out there donning the shirt, who haven’t even heard the band. There’s even a popular Ramones Museum in Berlin, which incidentally CJ Ramone was seen in this week.

Virtually every member that’s been in the band one time or another are in the main no longer with us, and thus it is nye impossible to hear their tunes played live with any vigour – enter The Ramonas.

The Ramonas are an all-girl Ramones tribute act. Some of ye olde faithful might be thinking that this might not be a grand idea. Well, I will put your fears to rest straight away – just click HERE and enjoy.

Those true believers of continually flying the ‘All Things Punk Flag’, namely The Big Blue Shed promotions company also have faith in The Ramonas as does punk legend Charlie Harper (of the UK Subs fame) as he has lent his services to the Ramonas ladies on their terrific latest album of self-penned material called ‘First World Problems’.

The Ramonas are Cloey Ramona, Rohnny Ramona, Pee Pee Ramona and Cammy Ramona and they will be back in Brighton on Saturday 28th September, when they will be performing their energetic set of Ramones covers upstairs at The Hope & Ruin, which is located in Queens Road just up from the main clocktower.

The Ramonas were last in the area back in March, when they set alight The Con Club in Lewes – read our review HERE.

What better way to spend a Saturday night, than jumping around to 100mph punk tunes of some serious calibre. So, to that end you can purchase your Ramonas, Hope & Ruin, Brighton concert tickets HERE and HERE and seriously let your hair down.
