A community radio station serving Brighton and Hove has had its broadcasting licence extended for five years by the watchdog Ofcom.

Radio Reverb is celebrating its fifth anniversary and the prospect of another five years with a weekend of fundraising.

The Reverbathon is taking place all weekend (Saturday 31 March and Sunday 1 April) to help pay for running costs such as rent, equipment, publicity, web design and the broadcasting licence itself.

Funds are also needed to improve the station’s quality, sound and output.

Radio Reverb broadcasts 24 hours a day on 97.2FM and online. It is a not-for-profit organisation which is run by volunteers and rooted in the community.

The station said: “We produce the kind of radio programmes not heard on mainstream radio, broadcasting a genuinely eclectic mix of music and spoken word made by Brighton and Hove people for the people of Brighton and Hove, keeping local people both entertained and informed about what’s happening across the city.

“The station is driven by the energy and enthusiasm of our great team of radio producers, presenters, reporters and technicians who all give their time for free.

However, we cannot operate on goodwill alone.”

    Hi,
I’m Rob Moulder, a Psychotherapist living in Brighton and I’m contacting you to see if you’re listeners maybe interested in hearing about the benefits of a new free 6 step personal and social development course I’ve recently created called ‘Happiness is a choice’ which I’ve been developing at Brighton Unemployed Centre Family Project in Tilbury Place.

It’s a practical option for people wanting to improve their mindset, confidence and communication skills
and what makes it unique is that participants have immediate access to experiencing highly effective psychological techniques that they can test out for their validity in the workshop and then apply in their day to day life, instead of being faced with the choice of either paying for a therapist which may be beyond their financial reach or being placed on a waiting for up to 2 years, without knowing whether or not the service will be of any practical use to them.

Any questions, I’m happy to answer.
