A driver from Brighton has been sent for crown court trial over the death of a pensioner from Hove in a crash.
Adrian Fasan, 39, of Loder Road, Brighton, appeared before Brighton magistrates on Thursday to answer three charges related to the crash.
Fasan was accused of causing death by dangerous driving after Catherine Akehurst, 85, of Lullington Avenue, Hove, died in a crash.
She was hit as she crossed Old Shoreham Road, yards from her home, on Saturday 2 September last year.
Fasan was also charged with crashing into Mrs Akehurst while under the influence of drugs. He is alleged to have taken cocaine and amphetamine.
When he was arrested after crashing his Toyota Celica, he was alleged to have had cocaine with him as well.
He was sent for trial at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday 30 August and remanded on unconditional bail.
