Detectives have released a picture of a man they want to speak to about the rape of a student in Brighton last November.
The release of the photo follows extensive investigative work by detectives and it is hoped in releasing the photo new information may come to light.
Officers are urging the man to get in contact after a woman in her twenties reported being raped at her student accommodation.
The incident happened at Brighton University’s Falmer campus at around 5am on Friday 27 November last year.
Detective Constable Jane Walker said: “Continued support has been offered to the victim throughout this difficult and comprehensive investigation.
“Extensive inquiries have been made by the team of detectives working on this case and I am now releasing the photo of a man, who gave his name as Fernando as I hope members of the public may recognise him.
“I wish to trace him as I believe he may be able to significantly assist detectives in establishing what happened last November.
“I’m appealing directly to him and to anyone who may know him to come forward.”
The photo of the man was taken at a bus shelter in the Old Steine, Brighton, after the victim had met him earlier that night while with friends.
He is described as being of Mediterranean appearance, 6ft tall, in his early 20s, of athletic build, with dark long hair and a nose ring.
